Mine, all Mine
I wouldn’t completely agree with a lot of the observations but it’s an interesting read for sure.

On 9 January 2012, in compliance with the commodity price increase due to the rise in oil price and the US dollar, the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Union (CMTU) presented a proposal to the Government of Mongolia to establish three-part talks. But to date, there has been no significant response from the Government regarding to the matter. Therefore, a demonstration protest organized by the Trade Union is planned to be held on 20 January, Friday at 1200 Hrs throughout the country including the Ulaanbaatar city Sukhbaatar’s Square and all 21 aimags. A working group to organize a protest has been already set up and getting ready for the Friday’s demonstration.
At the press conference conducted by the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Union (CMTU) , the President of the Union S.Ganbaatar said, “We have no choice but to organize a demonstration at the last minute as our attempts to mitigate the situation by establishing three-part talks with the Government were no avail. The lives and conditions of people are deteriorating with each day. There are potential steps that the Government of Mongolia can take to reduce the commodity prices and fuel prices.”
Comment: According to the CMTU, they are planning to run the examination to identify the companies, which import commodity products and fix the prices with no basis by conspiring with each other, and take stern actions against them.
As we know, the organizers had officially requested for permission to hold a demonstration at Sukhbaatar Square and the request is under consideration by Sukhbaatar District Governor’s office at the moment.
Meanwhile, Sukhbaatar District Police Department has not received any instructions yet in regards to the Friday’s demonstration.
UNDSS is closely monitoring the situation and will update you on the latest developments.
ICM team would recommend you avoid the immieditat area while protests are ongoing on Friday.
The President of CMTU promised that there will be no violence expected but you can never rule out an isolated incident by a disgruntled protester or drunk participant.
We will update you if any more information comes to us by the UNDSS.
